- Extract the file to your system once the download is complete. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named- dynamic_field_value_generator
- Copy and paste this folder into your Odoo Add-ons Path.
- Now open the Odoo app and click on the Settings menu. Here click on Activate Developer mode.
- Then open the Applications menu and click ‘Update module list.’
- In the search bar, remove all filters and search for ‘dynamic_field_value_generator‘
- You will be able to see the module in the search results. Click on ‘Install‘ to install it.
- Once Odoo dynamic field value generator is installed, go to Settings >> User >> Field value generator. Here, select the administrator role.
2. Then go to ‘Field value generator‘to access “Field rule”
The admin can either access the predefined rule or create a new one for value generation.

3. To create a new rule, go to >> Field Value Generator >> New >> Selected Field
The user or manager can add a prefix, suffix or separator. The administrator can also select the Text transformation functionality for text appearance.

4. To check the domain filtering option >> click ‘Apply on’ >> User can see the selected records for which the value would be generated

5. After that click ‘Apply for everyone‘ to apply the custom rule to the selected records >>Select the option either Update value or replace values >> click Generate

6. To access the Contextual actionclick on Create a contextual action,

7. This allows the administrator to generate values directly from the model, or for bulk or single record

8. Once the targeted field is selected and the custom rules >> click Generate.
