Request for Quote (RFQ) for BigCommerce stores, the most important and awaited feature for BigCommerce store owners.
With RFQ For BigCommerce, customers can purchase bulk orders with personalized pricing directly from the store.
The RFQ app allows them to negotiate with store owners and finalize the purchase price.
Thus, store owners can generate bulk product orders, which will ultimately increase the store’s sales and revenue.
RFQ Features for BigCommerce

- Store owners and customers can negotiate via email.
- You may also receive quote requests for out of stock products.
- The store owner will have 3 options for each RFQ, “Accept”, “Requote” and “Reject”.
The RFQ installation and configuration flow for BigCommerce
Application settings:
After installing the app, configure the app settings >> Initial Settings as shown below.
You need to add the code shown in the screenshot to your BigCommerce theme files to make the RFQ feature visible on the storefront.
Now configure the general app settings as shown in the screenshot below

After that, go to the email template settings and set the emails you want to send on different events to customers, such as tenders placed, accepted or rejected.


Syncing your BigCommerce store products is the next step. To do this, go to the “Products” menu then start synchronization.
After that, as a store owner, you need to decide which product(s) you want to apply RFQs to and then add the “Minimum Quantity” below which a customer cannot create a quote. call for tenders for a corresponding product.

Here is the storefront view and list of products with RFQ tag i.e. a customer can request RFQ for these products.

Now, a form view will be opened where a customer can add their “Asking Price” and corresponding quantity.
Here, “asking price” represents the unit price offered by the customer for the requested quantity of the product.

Note: Multiple products can be added in a single price request form..

Store owner view (back-end view):
Store owners can see statistics of all offer requests on a single dashboard.

As a store owner, you will also receive an email notification for a new RFQ request submitted by a customer, then you will need to click on the “RFQ Products” menu.


By clicking on the action button, the admin can act on the request.
Detailed view:
In this detailed view of a tender request, the store owner has 3 options: “Accept”, “Requote” and “Refuse”
Note: The store owner can only perform one action at a time and this action cannot be revoked.

If the administrator accepts the RFQ request, the status of the RFQ changes from active to completed.
An email notification will be sent to the relevant customer to proceed with payment.

By clicking on Order, the customer will be redirected to purchase the product at the requested price.


If the administrator wants to negotiate rates with a client then go with “Requote”:
Click the “Requote” button and enter your values into the form.



The associated customer will receive an email notification regarding the new quote.

If the administrator wishes to refuse the quote:
Click on the “Refuse” button.
